High School Senior Portraits

Award winning, professional photography services on the South Shore of Massachusetts and beyond.

The images we use to represent ourselves is a very personal thing.  High school seniors look for an image that captures the essence of who they are in that moment.   It is a a big deal to them.

Many high school seniors come to me saying that they “hate” the cookie cutter image taken by the huge company that comes into their school.  “It is like a cattle call,” said one young man.  The companies are merely doing what they are paid to do, and that is VOLUME.  A company like this does not have the time to appeal to every person’s possibilities.  Understandable, but most seniors do not want to sit on a haystack or fold their hands.

I get along with young adults.  My promise to each high school senior that comes to me for their senior portrait is that we shoot until you like what you have.  We collaborate, or not, depending on each personality. Generally, parents end up with a set of prints for themselves too.

I charge a flat rate of $250 for senior portraits.  This does not include prints, but it includes the time it takes for the person to be happy with their image.  Isn’t that the point?  I have a studio, but 99% of the time we wander around to different places that are meaningful to the person, or to sites I think work well.

Many photographers limit the number “clothing changes.”  I don’t really care how many outfits you want to wear, I care that you like what we have in the end. I encourage parents to stay home, but it is understandable if they feel they must be there.

Like other shoots, I make the optimal images available in a private online gallery for 30 days, and within that time I expect you to choose your yearbook shot so I can adjust it technically to the specifications of your high school.  I will gladly give you a CD of the same images for your use on Facebook etc.  We can order prints through my local custom lab, or through my shopping cart - whichever you prefer.  I like to be paid for my time, not on mark up of printed products.

There is more... You can capture high school friendships like the group below did.  This was entirely their idea and a way to honor the connections made during high school.

These 5 young women had the idea, arrived wearing similar clothing and shows, and we had so many great shots that parents decided to make them an 18 month calendar before leaving for college.
